Hi, I'm Kim.

I'm a seamstress and mom from Richmond, Virginia.

I started making Diverse Dolls as an alternative to the widely available 11.5 inch fashion doll for my own daughter, Dani. I wanted something innocent and versatile...at age 3 I just wasn't ready for Barbies to make an appearance in our home. Between that an a bit of a sewing accident I designed the very first "Darby".

Diverse Dolls are completely customizable! You want a blue skinned doll with rainbow dreads? I can do that! Or maybe just something that matches your child's features? Got it covered! In my own experience finding a blond doll with brown eye's like Dani's on the shelf is next to impossible...so I feel that frustration. Does your son want a doll too? Does your daughter want her doll to have a knight costume? The Diverse Doll body is unisex and the outfits, be it a princess dress or a ninja costume, fit them ALL!
